Happy end of 2025, and hello 2026!

I missed out on doing this post last year, so enjoy the recent books I loved (which will include things I read this year and last year) and ones I can't wait for!

Book cover of Sunrise on the Reaping

Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins

Okay. I love the Hunger Games books. I've read them all multiple times. I honestly don't know if I can ever read this one again because it RIPPED MY HEART INTO TINY PIECES. Will I be seeing the film next year? Absolutely. Will I cry in theaters? You betcha.

Raiders of the Lost Heart by Jo Segura

Fun fact: growing up, I wanted to be an archaeologist. As an avid reader, writer, and now literary agent, reading a fun romance about an archaeologist was a win-win! This was everything I needed and more! Will definitely be picking up more in this series.

Book cover of Funny Story

Funny Story by Emily Henry

I'm such a big Emily Henry fan. Every time I read a new one, I think it's my new favorite--and this one was no exception! I loved it SO much. It is my new favorite Emily Henry.

Also, catch me watching People We Meet On Vacation on Netflix the moment it comes out January 2026!

The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year by Ally Carter

Ally Carter has been one of my favorite authors since I was a kid. I loved her MG and YA books, and her Adult books have been just as wonderful (no pun intended). This one was perfect for Christmastime and fans of Knives Out! 10/10 recommend.

Small Spaces by Katherine Arden

I realized I am very behind on reading this, but truth be told, I am a Scaredy Cat. And reading this just solidified that because it was SCARY! For a MG?! I will never look at scarecrows the same way.

In all seriousness though, this was a joy to read!

A Cuban Girl's Guide to Tea and Tomorrow by Laura Taylor Namey

Also realize I'm late to the party on this one, but I loved it! I want all the books with travel and finding yourself and and connecting with your culture and falling in love (preferably with the people they meet while traveling).

Book cover of Blood Beneath the Snow

Blood Beneath the Snow by Alexandra Kennington

Am I a little bias? Maybe. But this romantasy is SO good. A Nordic-inspired world, a princess with no magic, an enemy love interest with a mask?! What is there not to love?

And speaking of Blood Beneath the Snow...

Book cover of Gods Beneath the Ice

Gods Beneath the Ice by Alexandra Kennington

Coming out February 17, 2025!! Don't miss out on the conclusion to the Blood & Souls duology.

Drown the Bones by Alexandra Kennington

Coming out Fall 2026! Alexandra's next new adult romantasy has heathen magic and the ghost of a rival prince!

Immortal Game by Allison Saft

If Allison Saft isn't an auto-buy author for you, what are you doing?! Coming out August 2026!

The Lust Crusade by Jo Segura

I told you, I am here for the archaeologist love! Coming January 2026.

Amari and Metalwork Menace by B.B. Alston

I read Amari and the Night Brothers and loved it! I would love to catch up on the series! This is the 4th book and it comes out February 2026!

Can't wait to see what books 2026 has in store!
