Books to Keep That Summer Feeling Alive

For many people, Labor Day means the end of summer. The sound of school bells ring, the smell of Pumpkin Spice Lattes fill the air, and Ugg boots are dug out of closets.

HOLD UP. WAIT A MINUTE. It's still 90 degrees outside.

I love fall just as much as the next person, but we can't let summer go yet! It's too soon! I'm not ready.

If you're like me and want to soak up the last rays of summer before Hocus Pocus takes over your life, then here are 6 books to keep you in that summer spirit you'll be missing come December.

1. Every single Sarah Dessen book

I swear by her books for a good summer read. You honestly can't go wrong no matter which book you pick. But, of course, I have my favorites: Once and For All, This Lullaby, and Along for the Ride. If you want a good summer read, look no further.

2. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants

An oldie but a goodie. And it's a series, too! Travel with the sisterhood as they leave each other for the summer and discover more about themselves and some cute boys.

3. The Last Song

I love a good Nicholas Sparks romance. Add the summer and you've got a winner. Yes, you might cry, but it's worth it, right?

4. To Kill a Kingdom

Okay, not necessarily set in the summer, but it's about sirens/mermaids/princes/pirates and a twisty retelling of The Little Mermaid. And what's more summer-y than mermaids? Nothing!

5. My Life Next Door

Again with the cute summer romances! I love it, it makes summer--summer! It'll make you laugh, it might make you tear up, but it'll leave you wishing for more summer for sure.

6. Forever Summer

Fitting title, right? This book is actually two books in one: Laguna Cove and Cruel Summer. Both are awesome and will give you all those summer, tingly romance vibes as you live out your summer dream in Laguna Beach or Greece.

I promise I could go on and on with my favorite summer reads, but I'll leave you with these.

What are your favorite books that keep the summer feeling alive?
