Book Series for the YA Lover

When it comes to books, you can put almost anything in front of me and I'll read it.

I love Brit Lit, I love a good historical fiction, and autobiographies have turned into my guilty pleasure. But, my heart has always belonged to YA and I think it always might. Maybe that's why I wrote a YA novel? Who knows!

With all of this reading comes a great amount of knowledge. And with knowledge, as we all know, comes great responsibility. It is my responsibility to tell you guys all of the amazing books and series out there! If I didn't do it, well, what is the point of me reading as much as I do?

Without further ado, here are some of my favorite books series for those who like YA:

Fantasy

Sarah J. Maas- Throne of Glass Series

I don't know about you, but I love me a good, strong female character. Also, assassins. This is an addictive and thrilling series you won't be able to put down. Trust me. There are so many twists and turns, murders, and some straight up emotional dilemmas. There's also some romance, don't worry. And don't forget about the power and strength of friendship. Magic and fantasy meet in this non-stop exciting series filled with Kings, assassins, and Fae. This is one series you do not want to miss out on. I promise!

Kendare Blake- Three Dark Crowns Series

So, the premise of this book may seem creepy and scary (and don't get me wrong it is), but it's also fascinating and addictive. There are three young queens, destined to kill each other until one remains and is crowned. Did I mention they're sisters? It's a dark read that will keep you on your toes and have your mind racing at the possibilities. They are still a work in progress and only two of the four books in the series are out. But, don't let that stop you from devouring it!

Victoria Aveyard- Red Queen Series

So, listen. This trilogy might be one of the best things to ever happen to me. I'm not kidding. I read the first two books in like five seconds and I'm currently waiting to demolish the third in a similar fashion. It's a great book, with a twist that still has me reeling. The movie rights have been bought for it, but don't let that stop you from reading it first, seeing as it could still be years before it gets off the ground. There are Princes, wars, powers, and class separation that you don't want to miss out on! It'll harden your heart while it rips it out. I promise.

Josephine Angelini- WorldwalkerSeries

An interesting take on the thought that there might be another us in another universe and wondering what the heck they might be doing. A sick girl in love with her best friends travels to another Salem, Massachusetts where her other-self is the ruler of all, her best friend is on the run with her other-selves ex-lover, and she has magical powers she knows nothing about. It's a read that will transport you and make you keep reading until you get to the last book.

Romance

Kiera Cass- The Selection Series

It's like The Bachelor, but you inherit a throne at the end. It takes place far into the future of the country we call home where rebels lie in wait, 35 girls try and win the heart of a Prince, and a lot of drama occurs. First loves, attacks on the capital, and of course class rankings eerily similar to the Hunger Games. It will grab onto your heart and almost make you wish you could be a contestant, too. If you're into that sort of thing I mean.

Gayle Forman- If I Stay and Where She Went

You may have watched the movie, but don't you know the books are always better? And there's a sequel so you can continue loving the characters! If I Stay is from the perspective of Mia and Where She Went is from the perspective of Adam. It follows there story, and trust me when I say you're heart will do all sorts of stuff while reading this. If you're looking for more romance by Gayle Forman, check out her books Just One Day and Just One Year. They're equally as heart dropping, stirring, and lovely.

Adventure

Ally Carter- Gallagher Girls, Heist Society, and Embassy Row Series

I can't pick one Ally Carter series. I really can't. If you want awesome female characters, romance you wish was real, and story lines that will keep you guessing and coming back for more, then all of these series are for you! One is about a school for spies, the other a girl in a family of thieves, and the last a girl living in her country's Embassy trying to solve her mother's murder.

Brittany Cavallaro- Charlotte Holmes Series

A series about the descendants of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson?! Yes please. The two meet at their private school in Connecticut and mass mystery ensues. It's equal parts heart, mystery, and nail-biting. You'll love the characters, you'll hate them, but most importantly you'll want to try and solve the cases right along with them. A series you can't put down, especially if you have Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes in your head.

Leigh Bardugo- Six of Crows Series

A series that is sadly only a duology, but there's always hope for more down the line. I will admit, it might take a little while before you get into the book, but once you do you are in for a wild ride you won't want to put down again! Thieves, murderers, tricksters, and thugs come together to create a team to do the unthinkable. But, people aren't always what they seem at firs.t You will fall in love with the characters and the story line has twists and turns every way. You won't regret it.

There you have it! Some of my favorite series' to date. I'm always reading and adding to my list. And trust me, this post could have gone on for ages, but i had to stop somewhere. What are some of your favorite series? Should I be reading something now? Sound off in the comments or send me a message!
