10 Things You Think About At Work...When You Should Be Productive
Maybe it's just me, but my mind tends to wander when I'm working. I mean, my mind wanders regularly, but there's something about my office that tends to take my thought process on a wild train ride. Regardless of how busy I am, or the complete opposite, I can't help but laugh when I realize how far away my thinking has actually gone from where I started. Here are some random, and ever-changing, thoughts that pop into my head...when I should be working.
"Having an office is kind of cool. It's so official and mature." *spins in chair throughout whole day*
"I wonder how far I can roll my chair so I don't have to get up to grab that on the other side of my office..." *uses legs to scoot chair around office, bumping into every desk, table, and bookshelf along the way*
"I know I packed my lunch, but really, how far away is Chick-Fil-A anyway?"
"I wonder what cats are up for adoption around here..." *Lowers Excel sheet and starts Google*
"I have been here for hours, I'm so glad it's time to go home!" *Realizes I haven't even been to lunch yet*
"Literally, Susan, my door was closed for a reason. If you open it, return it to its previous position!" *Gets up and closes door. Again.*
"I hear laughter. Who has time for laughter here? Can they not tell I have too many things to do and not enough hours to do it in?" *Angrily spins in chair*
"I have so many nice pens and highlighters...how can I use them?" *Makes up project so I can write with my pretty things*
"Did this printer come from Hades? What is this madness? Everyone stop printing so I can figure this thing out!" *Throws paper in the air before putting all wrong prints into the recycling bin*
"There is someone at each table in the break room. I don't know any of them. Do I eat in the bathroom like on Mean Girls?" *Sits at table with stranger and remains silent while eating pudding*
Work isn't always fun. Sometimes I have so much on my to-do list that I want to crawl underneath my desk and cry. Other times, I have to make up things to do because I have all the time in the world. But, no matter what, I can always count on my brain to think of something completely off topic...or at least a humorous, running commentary on my day.
